Dolphins release QB Josh Rosen per reports
MIAMI The Miami Dolphins are releasing quarterback Josh Rosen, according to ESPNs Adam Schefter. Miami traded a second-round pick to Arizona for Rosen last season. There were rumors earlier this week that the Dolphins were open to trading Rosen, but now hes being outright released. The Dolphins have veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa. Head coach Brian Flores has not named a starter for the season opener against New England.
Trade bust: QB Josh Rosen cut by Dolphins after 1 season
MIAMI NFL cutdown day forced the Miami Dolphins to acknowledge the failure of their Josh Rosen experiment. Miami released Rosen, who was acquired from Arizona in April 2019 for second- and fifth-round draft picks. You dont hit on every play, on every trade, on every draft pick. I'll applaud that team. The decision to cut Rosen signals the Dolphins are confident in the health of top draft pick Tagovailoa, who has returned from a career-threatening hip injury that ended his Alabama career in November. Rosen began last season as Miamis backup QB, replaced Fitzpatrick as the starter in Games 3 through 5, and spent the rest of the year in the No.
Teams sending QBs packing in final cuts despite pandemic
The theory that NFL teams would go with three quarterbacks to start the pandemic-impacted season took a hit Saturday. Lots of third-stringers were sent packing as the 32 teams got down to the 53-man limit. "The most important thing is to kind of move forward and not look back, Dolphins coach Brian Flores said. Georgia linebacker Tae Crowder, the final player taken in April's draft, is on the roster. As a child growing up in Georgia, it was always my dream to play in the NFL, Watson wrote on social media.
The Dolphins Should Sign Tom Brady to Mentor Tua Tagovailoa and Change Their Culture
The immediate emotional response to bringing Brady (football Darth Vader) over to the good side (Miami) is an emphatic hell, no. Flores spent his entire coaching career with the New England Patriots until joining Miami this past season. Can you imagine what bringing Brady to Miami and allowing him to add to that culture would be like? As far as Rosen, he could stick around and back up Brady as Tagovailoa continues to recover from a hip injury. The Miami Dolphins want to be more like the Miami Heat in terms of culture and more like the New England Patriots in terms of everything else.miaminewtimes.com

Hyde: Bills game shows Dolphins Fitzpatrick is The Perfect Guy to pave way for The Next Guy | Commentary
The Dolphins know all they must about Josh Rosen by now. I pushed for him to start and said this season offered him a chance. Well, he didnt do much of anything. Flores benches Rosen, names Fitzpatrick starting QB again
During Wednesday's press availability at the Dolphins practice facility in Davie, Flores announced that he would be starting Ryan Fitzpatrick on Sunday against Buffalo. This comes just three days after Flores said, "Josh is still the starter," following Sunday's loss to the Washington Redskins, referring to quarterback Josh Rosen. Flores replaced Rosen with Fitzpatrick during the second half after the second-year QB struggled mightily, throwing a pair of interceptions and falling victim to five quarterback sacks. Rosen was named Miami's starting quarterback by Flores in early October but that, apparently, was short lived. Fitzpatrick started the Dolphins' first two games of the season, losses against Baltimore and New England, before Rosen was handed the keys.
Flores sticking with Rosen, pending this week's practice
DAVIE, Fla. - It appears Brian Flores is sticking with Josh Rosen at quarterback, for now. Rosen was sacked five times and threw two interceptions, before being pulled from the game. On Monday, Flores said, "I thought Fitz played really well when he went in there. I thought Fitz played really well. I thought Josh has played well in spurts, also, so we'll see how this goes in practice- this week of practice- but yeah, Josh will be the starter."

The Dolphins Won the Tank Bowl Thanks to a Crucial Kenyan Drake Drop
Yesterday the Miami Dolphins played arguably the most important game at Hard Rock Stadium since, well, when was El Clsico? Two teams entered a 0-4 Miami Dolphins versus a 0-5 Washington Redskins but only one would leave un-victorious. In actuality, it was not the sort of thing many #TankForTua Dolphins fans wanted. Luckily for them, a classic Dolphins play followed: Kenyan Drake dropped the pass, and Miami took home the Tank Bowl victory. The Fins and the Cincinnati Bengals are now the final winless teams in the NFL.miaminewtimes.com
Late comeback falls just short, Dolphins fall to 0-5
Kenyan Drake of the Miami Dolphins dives forward after being tackled by Montae Nicholson of the Washington Redskins at Hard Rock Stadium on October 13, 2019. Adrian Peterson more than doubled his season rushing total with 118 for Bill Callahan in his first game as interim coach. Washington intercepted Josh Rosen twice and sacked him five times before he was benched at the start of the fourth quarter with the Dolphins trailing 17-3. The Dolphins (0-5) remained winless under Flores but helped their chances of securing the No. The Dolphins lost their season finale there last year, and coach Adam Gase was then fired.
Hyde: With another blowout loss, Dolphins are tracking the worst teams in sports history | Commentary
The next game will go a long way toward saying if the Dolphins remain in the running for the worst team ever. Its Oct. 13 against the Washington Redskins, who are 0-4, were just hammered by the New York Giants on Sunday and might have turned the franchise over to rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins.sun-sentinel.com
Dolphins coordinators focus on improvement following dismal start
Josh Rosen of the Miami Dolphins throws against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on September 22, 2019. DAVIE, Fla. - The Miami Dolphins coordinators are focused on trying to improve a team off to a terrible start. Defensive coordinator Patrick Graham said that the Dolphins need to make sure to minimize mistakes and play clean. O'Shea was asked Tuesday to evaluate the first Dolphins start of Josh Rosen's career. Rosen will get his second start for the Dolphins on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Flores laments wasted opportunities by Dolphins
DAVIE, Fla. - Dolphins head coach Brian Flores is lamenting wasted opportunities. The Dolphins lost to Dallas 31-6 on Sunday, but Flores believes the team had plenty of chances to make the game closer against the Cowboys. "There was definitely some opportunities for us to make plays in all three phases," Flores said Monday. Flores said Drake needs to work on ball security, but does not need to change his running style. Though the Dolphins are off to a terrible start, Flores does not think the team is far away in these games.

Rosen plays well, Dolphins fall to 0-3 with 31-6 loss to Dallas
Josh Rosen of the Miami Dolphins throws against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on September 22, 2019. ARLINGTON, Texas - Dak Prescott threw two touchdown passes to Amari Cooper before running for another score, and the Dallas Cowboys pulled out of a first-half funk as huge favorites in a 31-6 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. The rebuilding Dolphins are 0-3 for the first time since losing their first seven in 2011. And while the Cowboys reached 3-0 for the first time since 2008, it took them awhile to find that offensive form. Prescott was 19 of 32 for 246 yards with an interception, and Cooper had six catches for 88 yards.
