The Giants (0-2) said earlier in the day an MRI in a New York City hospital confirmed Barkley had torn his ACL, meaning he would not play again in 2020. The former Penn State star also was criticized by former Giants running back Tiki Barber for his pass-blocking skills. “I know from working out with him over the summer he was looking forward to this season after the ankle injuries last season,” Peppers said.
Prosecutors seek Friday court appearance for Epstein friend
NEW YORK – Prosecutors on Sunday asked a judge to schedule a Friday court appearance in New York for Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime associate to face charges she helped him recruit women to sexually abuse. Prosecutors have labeled her an “extreme risk of flight" and said they want her jailed until trial. Epstein killed himself in a Manhattan jail last August while he awaited trial on federal sex trafficking charges. Prosecutors say Maxwell had both a personal and professional relationship with Epstein. Authorities said she sometimes hired girls to give him massages before joining as Epstein tried to engage the girls in sex acts.
Man arrested in Coral Gables for stalking Miami-Dade judge
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – After four months of attempts to harass and intimidate him, Miami-Dade County Circuit Court Judge George Sarduy had enough of Christopher Shaw, police said. From November to February, Shaw sent him seven e-mails expressing “anger, feelings of revenge” and “made racially derogatory remarks,” according to the arrest report. In 2016, Shaw was arrested for firing a weapon in public and for public intoxication. He wasn’t convicted and was sent to a rehabilitation program to treat addiction. In 2018, Shaw was charged with marijuana possession and he was sent back to a rehabilitation program to treat addiction.
