Three adult male manatees rescued from waters in the Florida Keys earlier this year have been returned to a Keys canal after being treated and rehabilitated at SeaWorld Orlando.

Federal agents responded after 19 Cuban migrants landed in the Florida Keys Wednesday morning, an official with the U.S. Border Patrol said.

A Fort Lauderdale man was behind bars in the Florida Keys Friday after Monroe County deputies said he sped off in a stolen Jeep while intoxicated.

A second group of Cuban migrants came ashore in South Florida Thursday.

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – The U.S. Coast Guard interdicted nine Cuban migrants Sunday about 10 miles south of Key Colony Beach, Coast Guard officials confirmed. The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Kathleen Moore then repatriated the migrants to Cabanas, Cuba. According to officials, the Coast Guard has interdicted about 40 Cuban migrants on the waters in fiscal year 2020, which began Oct. 1, 2019. Coast Guard crews interdicted 327 Cuban migrants in fiscal year 2019. According to officials, all migrants receive food, water, shelter and basic medical attention when aboard a Coast Guard cutter.
