BSO: Woman found dead identified as victim of shooting in Pompano Beach
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – An afternoon shooting is under investigation in Pompano Beach. According to Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call around 1:14 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of Northwest Eighth Street. BSO has identified the woman as 39-year-old Jonelle Coleman of Pompano Beach. Deputies said they found Coleman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue was dispatched and the she was pronounced dead at the scene.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are investigating after a baby died Monday morning in Pompano Beach, authorities confirmed. According to BSO spokeswoman Gerdy St. Louis, Broward Regional Communications received a call shortly after 9 a.m. regarding an unresponsive infant at an apartment unit in the 500 block of Northwest 34th Street. St. Louis said deputies and first responders from Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to the home and the infant was transported to a local hospital where he or she died. Man fatally shot during home invasion robbery in Pompano Beach
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A man was killed early Monday morning during a home invasion robbery in Pompano Beach, authorities confirmed. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived to the home and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead. Deputies have not disclosed what was taken during the robbery or why they believe the man was targeted. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, a call came in of a shooting in the area of 1950 Northeast 49th Street in Pompano Beach. The address is located across the street from a Walmart Supercenter. He was taken to the hospital by Pompano Beach Fire Rescue, where he was pronounced dead. BSO searching for clues in homeless mans murder near Pompano Beach Burger King
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. A 28-year-old homeless man was found shot near a Pompano Beach Burger King and 7-11 store Tuesday night. At approximately 9:39 p.m., Broward Sheriffs Office dispatchers received to the call of a shooting that happened between the Burger King and 7-11 on North Federal Highway. Another call was received at approximately 9:41 p.m. in reference to the shooting at 14 North Federal Highway. When BSO deputies arrived, they found the victim, later identified as Joseph Surace, suffering from a gunshot wound. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue transported Surace to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

After 30-foot fall in Bali, firefighter recovers at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – After a 22-hour flight, Michael Hughes made it back to South Florida on Thursday from Bali, where he fell about 30 feet while visiting an ancient temple. Hughes’ injuries included several broken ribs and five fractured vertebras in his back. His boss, Pompano Beach Fire Chief John Jurgle, said he was glad the firefighter made it back, and he was grateful for all of the support from the community. Hughes was hospitalized in Bali, but he really wanted to come home. Hughes will be recovering at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - A 71-year-old truck driver was killed Monday morning when beams of steel fell on top of him at a metal company in Pompano Beach, authorities said. BSO's Technical Rescue Team was called in to help remove the victim's body from underneath the steel. "When all of this steel fell on him, no one was there at the time, but they did find him," King said. "And in order to remove that steel, they're going to have to use a crane and go piece by piece to remove this to recover him." It took authorities hours to lift the steel beams off Roulhac's body.
