Now, more than ever, it’s vital to protect our citizenry, especially our veterans from debilitating guilt. Consequently, disillusionment, not guilt should be the expressed feelings. Veterans Seek Better Support From Inquiry In Australia
CANBERRA, Australia — Veterans are hopeful a royal commission into suicide can shed light on the problem and lead to better services. Nathan Bolton, a special operations engineer deployed twice to Afghanistan, said the announcement provided hope for future prevention and support. She said small organizations providing specific services for veterans should be better supported rather than focus on bigger bodies. “While the suicide rate in the armed services is well below the national average, it is four times the national average among veterans. That is unacceptable and cannot be allowed to continue.”The royal commission should ensure an interim report is delivered, so support can be rolled out before the final report is released, he said.

Another neat way to honor the ultimate sacrifice is to create an online memorial for a loved one with the Veterans Legacy Memorial Website. If you really want to show your support, hang up an American flag outside your home or perhaps honor the day with a sign or sidewalk chalk in your front yard.
