The "Wheel of Fortune" host underwent surgery Thursday for a blocked intestine, canceling a taping session for the show. "Happy to say that the worst has passed, and I'll be out of the hospital in a day of two, then back to work (unless @TheVannaWhite has completely taken over!)" White said in a tweet the show without Sajak was like "a word without vowels." "I'll fill in the blanks until you return," White's tweet read.

One contestant on Monday night's episode of "Wheel of Fortune" used his introduction with host Pat Sajak to tell viewers he is "trapped in a loveless marriage" to an "old battle-axe." The big-bearded contestant Blair Davis, from San Diego, said he owned a small trucking business, then went on to describe his family. "I've been trapped in a loveless marriage for the last 12 years to an old battle-axe named Kim," Davis told the crowd. "Absolutely, I love them like nobody's business," Davis said, smiling. On stage, staff will do a brief interview with each contestant and play a version of the Wheel of Fortune Speed-Up Round. (Wheel of Fortune hats, t-shirts and duffle bags are just some of the stuff you might win.) Eligibility requirements :You must be at least 18 years of age to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune. The applicant understands that Wheel of Fortune is under no obligation to use him/her as a contestant.
