BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — Southbound I-95 is at a standstill on Friday morning after a crash at Pembroke Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP officials said they front-to-rear collision involved seven vehicles and “multiple” people were transported to local hospitals, but there are no life-threatening injuries.
They said four vehicles were towed.
FHP also confirmed that all the southbound lanes of I-95 lanes are closed, causing backups to I-595. Drivers are urged to use U.S. 441 or the Florida Turnpike to avoid the congestion.
Alternate routes are taking longer than usual.
Palmetto Expressway from Northwest 154th Street to Dolphin Drive is 33 minutes, while I-75 to Dolphin Drive is 34 minutes. Motorists are advised to drive safely.
