We’ve started a stretch of wet weather that will have a big impact on the ongoing severe to extreme drought. The area has been getting the first round of downpours this morning, with a second round expected to develop across South Florida this afternoon. Some rain could be heavy, with a stray storm possibly producing strong winds and small hail. This pattern will continue through the weekend. Showers could occur at any time, but the highest chances are expected in the afternoons on Saturday and Sunday. This will continue into the early part of the workweek before lower rain chances and cooler air move in by midweek. Highs will be in the 70s, with lows in the lower 60s.
