September 13: Wet weather continues into next week

Keep the umbrellas handy, we’ve got lots of showers and t’storms in the forecast through the upcoming week as our wet September continues.

A disturbance midway between Miami and the Bahamas will keep the afternoon storm chances pretty high today through Tuesday followed by another system (non-tropical) moving in from the Caribbean for the Wednesday-Thursday timeframe.

It’ll heat up into the lower 90s before those cooling storms roll in so plan on summer heat lingering despite the fact that autumn is about a week away. If you have any outdoor plans, the morning hours look mainly dry with our best storm chances occurring between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. the next few days. We’re taking a bite out of our drought with all the rain lately although we’re still well below normal for the year.
