Sep. 19: South Florida faces a wet weekend with showers and storms

A strong upper-level low will continue to influence weekend showers across South Florida.

Tonight, scattered showers will linger into Sunday morning, especially along the coast.

Sunday afternoon will feature showers and storms energized by daytime heating. Some storms could produce heavy rain and cause localized flooding. Significant heating will be limited, with highs in the upper 80s.

Showers could persist into the week. More than 4 inches of rain cannot be ruled out through Tuesday.
