Gabrielle is strengthening Monday, a day after becoming a hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean, southeast of Bermuda.
On the forecast track, Gabrielle is forecast to pass east of Bermuda Monday night.
As of 5 a.m. Monday, Gabrielle was about 210 miles southeast of Bermuda and was moving toward the north-northwest near 10 mph.
“A turn toward the north is forecast later today, followed by a faster northeastward or east-northeastward motion on Tuesday,” the National Hurricane Center reported.
According to the NHC, Gabrielle had maximum sustained winds of 90 mph.
No watches or warnings were in effect, but forecasters said interests in Bermuda should monitor the progress of Gabrielle.
“Strengthening is forecast over the next day or so, and Gabrielle could become a major hurricane tonight,” the NHC reported.
