DocMJ.com registers more than 1,000 Floridians into registry to receive medical marijuana

Site provides direct patient access to medical cannabis recommendations

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. ā€“ DocMJ.com has registered more than 1,000 patients into the Compassionate Use Registry to receive medical marijuana under Florida law.

"The problem in Florida is that there are physicians willing and able to assist patients, and there are patients in dire need of medical cannabis, but the current law makes it difficult for them to find each other," Dr. Dan Rodriguez said in a news release. "DocMJ.comĀ is a medical practice devoted to serving for those patients who are struggling with finding a qualified physician."

The website helps potential medical marijuana patients find a qualified physician in Florida and helps patients find out whether they are eligible to receive medical cannabis.

According to the website, there are currently more than 3,000 patients registered with the Florida Department of Health's Compassionate Use Registry.

DocMJ.com currently serves nearly 5,000 patients. Patients pay only a small fee if they are later deemed to be qualified to receive medical cannabis.

"DocMJ.comĀ is a small group of physicians who want to provide affordable, direct patient access to medical cannabis recommendations under Florida law," the release said. "They aim to bring affordable medical marijuana access to qualified patients across the state of Florida."
