FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — It’s a paw-sitively purr-fect event for the entire family! The 36th annual VCA Walk for the Animals benefitting The Humane Society of Broward County is taking place Feb. 21. Local 10 Animal Advocate Jacey Birch will serve as the event emcee.
The annual fundraiser brings together thousands of animal lovers for a morning of fun, connection and wagging tails—all to support homeless pets. This year’s goal is to raise $535,000 to help provide shelter, medical care and second chances for animals in need.
“We are thrilled to welcome the community back for another incredible Walk for the Animals,” said Walk Co-Chair Carey Morgan. Co-Chair Michelle Watson added, “Every step taken and every dollar raised directly supports lifesaving care for thousands of homeless pets each year.”
Those interested in walking can do so individually or form a “pack” with family, friends or coworkers. The one-mile walk takes place at Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park, located at 80 Las Olas Circle in Fort Lauderdale. This is The Humane Society of Broward County’s largest fundraiser and features music, entertainment and more than 30 vendor booths.
