Davie ‘Smash It’ rage room lets customers take out their stress — one swing at a time

“Smash It” rage room in Davie gives customers a place to blow off steam For anyone needing to blow off some steam, a Davie business is giving people the green light to smash, scream and let it all out.

DAVIE, Fla. — For anyone needing to blow off some steam, a Davie business is giving people the green light to smash, scream and let it all out.

“Smash It,” located 5635 S. University Dr., is part rage room, part therapy — a place where customers suit up, grab a bat and destroy everything from TVs to glass bottles.

The idea came during the COVID-19 pandemic, when owners Stephanie and Adam Wagner found themselves looking for a creative outlet for frustration.

“One night he got so upset he smashed his laptop,” Stephanie Wagner said. “The next morning he said, ‘Stephanie, do you know what we should do?’ I said, ‘Okay, sure,’ and we spent about 60 days looking for a facility that would allow us to implement our idea — and here we are.”

Since opening, the couple’s stress-busting venture has expanded beyond the rage room.

Guests can now try axe throwing, paintball target shooting and even “plate therapy,” where participants write down what’s bothering them before shattering the plate.

Wagner said the business has also become a therapeutic space for those processing emotional pain.

“There have been many times where I felt really good about having someone in here who was able to let go of a traumatic experience or something they were going through,” she said.

Smash It is still growing. The owners said they plan to add a “scream room” for those who prefer to release tension vocally rather than physically.

“Whether you want to smash, throw, or scream, it’s all about letting it go,” Wagner said.
