PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — It’s the first day of August, which means some students are facing a looming deadline to finish their summer homework assignments.
Parents may be reminding their kids to get the work done, but some students feel they should have more of a say in how they spend their summer break.
Even some teachers aren’t fans of the practice.
Some say students should be allowed to enjoy their time off.
Others said they enjoyed summer reading assignments over the years, as long as students aren’t coming back on the first day of class facing a pop quiz or an essay due immediately.
