CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Newly released body camera video shows two separate deputy-involved shootings in Florida that authorities say both ended in the deaths of the a pair suspects in Charlotte County.

In the first incident, Charlotte County deputies said they responded to a domestic violence-related call at a Port Charlotte home.

Investigators said the suspect, Keith Dwayne Blevins, had threatened a woman with multiple guns during an argument.

Ring camera video from the front of the home shows Blevins, 52, walking outside and aiming a gun at responding deputies. Seconds later, deputies said they opened fire, striking him multiple times.

Deputies then rendered aid and called fire rescue, but investigators said Blevins was pronounced dead at the scene. They said he was armed with a fully loaded weapon.

Officials also released new video from a second deputy-involved shooting in Port Charlotte that also left a man dead.

According to investigators, a 911 caller reported that Matthew Cross approached a home and, seconds after the door was opened, allegedly fired a gun before running into a nearby wooded area.

Authorities said Cross, 32, later emerged from the woods while pointing a gun at his head. Deputies gave multiple commands for him to drop the weapon, but he continued walking toward law enforcement while holding the gun, according to investigators.

Deputies said they were forced to open fire and Cross was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said no deputies were injured in either incident.

They said the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating both shootings and will turn its findings over to the State Attorney’s Office for review.
