Officer injured during police pursuit in Plantation

Detectives are investigating a multi-vehicle collision on Sunrise Boulevard in Plantation.

PLANTATION, Fla. – An officer suffered minor injuries while a suspect was driving away on Thursday in Plantation.

There was a crash involving several cars in the area of Sunrise Boulevard, from 23rd to 27th avenues, according to Officer Chavez Grant, a spokesman for the Plantation Police Department.

“Officers responded to a suspicious person, upon making contact with the subject in his vehicle the subject fled in the vehicle. Upon fleeing the subject vehicle struck a patrol unit and an officer,” Grant wrote in an e-mail on Thursday night.

The suspect crashed at Sunrise Boulevard and 27 Avenue and officers made an arrest, according to Grant.
