Neighbors say murder suspect complained of crying baby before allegedly killing woman, infant

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – New details are emerging in the case of a deadly crime spree that played out in northern Broward County on Friday.

A friend of the murder victim told Local 10 News’ Roy Ramos that the 60-year-old aunt had just arrived from Colombia to help take care of her 10-month-old nephew.

While investigators are still working to find out what prompted the alleged attack, neighbors Local 10 News spoke with off camera said the suspect had complained of the baby crying before.

Evidence markers have been left on the front door of Dale Spidle’s apartment after Coral Springs police said the 35-year-old man is connected to the deaths of Elizabeth Carmona and her infant nephew.

They were found inside the unit next door to Spidle’s apartment, tragically beaten to death.

One neighbor who did not wish to be identified said she’s seen Spidle in the past but was shocked to hear of the violent attack he’s accused of.

“My daughter was home alone when this happened,” she said.

Even more concerning is that these deaths would be just part of a disturbing crime spree detectives said Spindle was involved with across Broward County.

Spidle was arrested while naked late Friday, accused of premeditated murder and a long list of additional charges.

Investigators said Spidle is linked to several other vehicle crashes around the same time on Friday.

One was in Pompano Beach, where Broward Sheriff’s deputies said four vehicles were involved, not just in a crash, but also a shooting.

One man was shot and killed in that incident.

Spidle is also accused of stealing the car from that shooting victim and hitting several other cars before his wild naked takedown.

He’s described by several neighbors as being problematic, but police have not yet revealed why he would allegedly take the lives of a motorist, Carmona or her infant nephew.

“I saw him like once, that’s it,” Spidle’s neighbor told Local 10 News. When asked what his attitude was like, she said, “He was weird.”

Spidle is currently being held behind bars with no bond.

Police have not released the identity of the motorist who was shot and killed.
