Biden starts Thanksgiving Day celebrations early before departing to Nantucket

WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden started Thanksgiving Day celebrations on Monday.

The National Turkey Federation delivered the turkeys named Chocolate and Chip, after Biden’s favorite ice cream flavor, to the White House South Lawn. Biden’s two-year-old grandson Beau attended the ceremony.

“There’s no ballot stuffing. There’s no fowl play. The only red wave this season’s gonna be if German Shepard Commander knocks over the cranberry sauce on our table,” Biden said about the midterm election results and his dog Commander.

Biden also served meals to U.S. troops during a Friendsgiving dinner on Monday evening at the Marine Corps Air Station, in Cherry Point, North Carolina.
