Body camera footage shows woman fleeing from traffic stop, striking officer with her car

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Authorities have released body camera footage from an incident over the weekend in which an officer was injured during a DUI traffic stop.

The footage shows a Lauderhill police officer being hit by a suspect’s vehicle as she tried to flee.

It happened Saturday at approximately 8 p.m. along the 5500 block of Northwest 44th Street in Lauderhill.

Police have since arrested 26-year-old Crystalee Tennant-Parnther and she faces several charges.

The video shows the officer attempting to obtain information about who Tennant-Parnther was, but she tries to drive away, striking the officer with her car door, which was open.

A short distance away, she crashed into a tree.

Body camera footage shows the same officer who the suspect struck arrive and help get her out of her car, using a knife to cut her out of her seat belt.

Tennant-Parnther went before a judge on Monday, and was told that she cannot drive under any circumstances.

Among her charges was one for driving with a license that had been expired for more than six months.
