PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – On Tuesday, the special time arrived for a lucky Local 10 News viewer to pick up their holiday prize.
That prize was a high tech electric bike, and it went to Katherine Byrd, the winner of Local 10′s Secret Santa giveaway at Vera Cadillac in Pembroke Pines.
“It’s beautiful,” she said. “Oh my God, I’m so happy.”
Not only does Byrd have cool green hair, she is also a mother of five, grandmother of two and a very loyal Local 10 News viewer.
“From four in the morning, and then I watch throughout the morning and evening time,” she said.
As for Byrd’s prize, it’s going to be enjoyed by many more than just her.
“I’m gonna let my family enjoy it,” she said. “My son definitely, he’s really looking forward to the bike.”
Byrd said for her, it’s more than just a gift in time for Christmas.
“It’s been hard now that I’ve been without work, so to be able to have this and be able to give my son something like this, it’s amazing,” she said. “Not having work and feeling like you have to rely on others at times, it’s hard.”
