MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A man was fatally stabbed Sunday by the mother of his children in Miami Gardens, authorities confirmed.
According to police, the stabbing occurred inside a home in the 3800 block of Northwest 177th Street following an argument.
Police units, an ambulance and a fire truck all raced to the scene.
According to Miami Gardens police, officers responded to the home after receiving reports about a domestic battery incident.
When they arrived, a woman confessed to officers that she had stabbed the father of her children, authorities said.
Officers said they found a man at the scene who had been stabbed multiple times.
He was airlifted to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police were spotted at the home throughout the evening as they investigated the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
A spokesperson for the police department told Local 10 News that the couple was involved in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation.
Neighbors in the area declined to comment on the incident.
As of Monday morning, it was unclear whether the woman would be charged.
