PHOTOS: Total solar eclipse in Texas

The image of the moon started to move over the sun from Mexico into the United States in Texas first.

There were watch parties at Front Street Station, Mesquite, and Fort Worth Zoo. Students and teachers cheered at D.A. Hulcy Middle School.

“It’s kind of neat to see it roll in and out,” Todd Beeby, 34, of Houston, told The Associated Press at the zoo.
