“I just wanted to come down and celebrate Charlie Kirk -- his life and celebrate America,” Patrick McConville said.

A painting of Kirk on a tree was displayed as attendees sang and prayed for the 31-year-old husband and father who was assassinated last week.

It comes as tens of thousands of Kirk’s supporters remembered him at a memorial service at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Dominick Casale, who owns the Diamonds & Doggies pet shop, organized the last-minute gathering locally, and deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office stood watch as the crowd grew.

“Everything is politics and I’m getting tired of it,” Casale said.

Casale said he’s worried about the state of the country.

“Nobody should be killed for what they say,” he said.

After the gathering, participants were encouraged to go to local businesses along where the new President Donald Trump Drive will be.
