DORAL, Fla. — A children’s coach was arrested earlier this week in Doral on child pornography charges in connection with an investigation that started over the summer, Local 10 News learned Friday.
According to an arrest report from the Doral Police Department, Luis Enrique Quiaro, 23, of Doral, was taken into custody Wednesday on two counts of possession of sexual performance by a child.
The report lists his occupation as a children’s coach, but does not state which sport Quiaro coaches nor the business/location where he works.
According to the report, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber tip on July 10 about child sexual abuse material being shared on WhatsApp.
Police said a subpoena was served to Google and Quiaro was identified as the owner of the phone number that was used to upload the child pornography.
One GIF that was uploaded involved an infant and another image involved a girl who appeared to be under 10 years old, authorities said.
Police said detectives later executed a search warrant at Quiaro’s home and confiscated his electronics for forensic examination.
According to the arrest report, Quiaro provided a statement to detectives, but that statement was redacted from the publicly released report.
As of Friday, Quiaro was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $5,000 bond.
