Woman, 24, IDed as victim of fiery North Miami Beach crash: ‘Utter disbelief and shock’

Victim of deadly crash in North Miami Beach IDed

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A South Florida rabbi is identifying the victim of a deadly crash in North Miami Beach on Wednesday.

Julie Eibinder, 24, was a beloved member of the Jewish community in Sunny Isles Beach, where she grew up.

“The whole community is in utter disbelief and shock,” said Rabbi Alexander Kaller of the Chabad Russian Center.

Police said Eibinder was killed when an SUV driver cut her off, causing her Tesla to slam into a pole on Northeast 163rd Street. The vehicle then burst into flames and Eibinder couldn’t be rescued.

She was on her way to a friend’s house to share a meal before the Yom Kippur fast.

“We look at ourselves as souls,” Kaller said. “We are souls that are dispatched into this world with a mission, and the body is the shell, the husk that houses that soul. And every soul, upon completion of its mission on this earth, is taken back.”

Police said the investigation is ongoing and confirmed Eibinder was not at fault. Her mother works as a preschool teacher at the Sunny Isles Beach synagogue.

On Monday, the community gathered in Sunny Isles Beach and in Miami Beach — where Eibinder worked at the Jewish Community Center — to mourn her loss.

Rabbi Kaller remembered her as a source of light and kindness.

“The smile and the love for the community, the love for her family, and just boundless energy and positivity,” he said. “She was always very, very positive. Despite this tragedy, to think good and it will be good — but most important, to do good.”

Her synagogue has established a memorial fund in her honor.

Authorities have not announced whether the other driver will face charges.
