WESTCHESTER, Fla. — A 53-year-old man was arrested Monday after he pretended to be a police officer during a road rage incident in Westchester, deputies said.

According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, one of the women told deputies that the suspect, identified as Erick Rodger Cerezo, of Miami, began honking his horn at her because she was stopped at a stop sign, allowing pedestrians to cross.

Deputies said Cerezo then followed the woman to a nearby Publix, located at 8680 SW 24th St., and parked his car behind hers, boxing her in.

The woman and her passenger then got out of their car.

According to the arrest report, Cerezo pulled out his wallet and flashed a gold badge that read “police officer” on it at the driver through the front windshield.

He then showed the badge to the other woman and said, “I am a cop,” the report stated.

According to the report, deputies located Cerezo parked in front of a nearby Walmart.

Deputies said he claimed that he never told the victims that he was a police officer.

According to the report, however, the fraudulent police badge was found by deputies inside his wallet, along with his driver’s license and health insurance card.

Cerezo was arrested on a charge of falsely impersonating an officer.

As of Tuesday morning, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $2,500 bond.
