MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 32-year-old woman is facing charges after deputies say she assaulted her girlfriend and struck a 2-year-old girl during a fight Tuesday night in Miami-Dade’s Westchester area.

It happened just after 8 p.m. at a home near the 8000 block of Coral Way.

Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said Gretter Gonzalez Aguiar got into an argument with her girlfriend while they were traveling in a vehicle.

The victim told investigators that Gonzalez Aguiar turned around from the front passenger seat and struck her in the chest while she was holding her 2-year-old daughter — hitting the child instead.

The report stated that Gonzalez Aguiar then got out of the vehicle and continued to strike her girlfriend several times with her hands and an “unknown object” once they stopped near Coral Way.

Minor injuries were observed, deputies said, but Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s offer of treatment was declined.

Deputies later located Gonzalez Aguiar near Southwest 87th Avenue and 29th Street and took her into custody.

Investigators said Gonzalez Aguiar, her girlfriend and another man had been living together in a polyamorous relationship for about nine months. They did not say what the couple was arguing about before the fight.

Jail records show Gonzalez is facing one count each of child abuse with no great bodily harm and domestic battery.

Gonzalez Aguiar, a Cuban national, was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and placed on an immigration hold as of Wednesday morning.

Her bond information wasn’t immediately released.
