MIAMI — NBA Hall of Famer and Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade is stepping off the court and into the world of fragrance with the launch of his new men’s scent, Intuition, at Macy’s in Aventura Mall earlier this week.
The fragrance is part of Wade’s role as Aramis’ global ambassador, and he said it represents more than just a scent — it’s a personal statement.
“I feel great, obviously I feel even better being here back in Miami right now to be able to release this - this record that we’ve been working on for a few years now back in Wade county,” Wade told Local 10’s Jason Carter.
Wade said the development of Intuition took about 2.5 years, involving numerous iterations to capture the essence he wanted.
“Fragrance is the genesis. There’s a lot of iterations, a lot of tinkering with molecules to get it right,” he said.
For Wade, fragrance is part of the modern man’s grooming routine.
“I got my face wash, my body wash, my face lotions … but also too, I have my fragments as well. For me, it’s an opportunity to speak out on what men’s care should feel like and where it’s going,” he added.
He emphasized that fragrance is now highly personal.
“Show up at Macy’s, pick and put it on your body, make sure there’s something you like. Make it part of your story,” Wade said.
He added that his wife, Gabrielle Union, gave the scent her approval multiple times during its development.
Describing the notes of Intuition, Wade said it embodies contrasts.
“It’s more personable … it embodies who I am more than any other fragments that I’ve ever worn. You are strong, yet gentle, fierce, yet present. The notes of grapefruit, lavender, vedever, and leather all worked together in this really nice accord," Wade said.
He said the fragrance aims to inspire confidence.
“It’s the finishing touches… it speaks to you and speaks for you at the same time. Whatever it is that we’re trying to embody, you find the right fragrance that enhances it without saying a word,” Wade said.
Wade’s launch underscores a growing trend in men’s grooming, where fragrance is no longer just an accessory but an extension of personal identity and confidence.
