BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was found with a gunshot wound Wednesday evening on Interstate 95 northbound near Palmetto Park Road and Hillsboro Boulevard.

Florida Highway Patrol requested help around 5:30 p.m. from Boca Raton police and BSO deputies.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, officials said.

Another person was detained for questioning, but authorities have not released details about their involvement. The shooting caused major traffic delays as investigators closed lanes on the highway.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
