PINECREST, Fla. — A Pinecrest family is shaken — and warning others — after a coyote attacked their beloved French bulldog right in their own backyard.
The terrifying encounter was caught on their home security camera Tuesday, showing just how fast it all happened.

In the footage, 10-year-old Lola is seen wandering near the patio when a coyote suddenly charges straight at her. Her owners say they heard her cries and sprinted outside, managing to scare the animal off before it did even more damage.
Lola was rushed to the vet, where she was treated for bite wounds on her back legs and given both a rabies booster and antibiotics.
Because of the attack, her family has to closely monitor her for 10 days for any behavioral changes — something they say has them on edge.

“We’re paranoid now,” said Denise Rodriguez. “My daughter was crying yesterday and started researching all the ways we can protect Lola.”
Rodriguez said Florida Fish and Wildlife officials offered advice on how to deter coyotes — including loud noises, motion lights, and securing trash — and even mentioned that homeowners are legally allowed to “get rid” of the animal themselves if they choose.
The family says they’re now too afraid to let Lola outside alone. They hope their story serves as a warning to other pet owners across South Florida: coyotes are out there — even in quiet neighborhoods.
