MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — In collaboration with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade County, Hooters of Miami awarded four high school seniors, who are club members, with $500 each in college scholarships.
Hooters employees presented the awards to Alex Morales, Treazure Washington, Sebastian Garcia and Jada Jambrina at the Hooters in Coral Way.
The scholarship money, which totaled $2,000, came from proceeds of a special fundraiser held at the restaurant.
“We are honored to have the opportunity to assist the Boys and Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade members with scholarships to help lead them to success in college and their futures,” said Hooters of South Florida Director of Marketing Kristi Quarles.
Each recipient was selected for exemplary leadership and dedication to community. The scholarship award can be used toward the purchase of essential materials for academic success.
“The Hooters scholarship is a powerful steppingstone for our club members, especially those facing financial challenges,” said Diana Perez, vice president of operations of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade.” It can help pay for textbooks, school supplies, or lab fees—items that are often overlooked, allowing students to focus more on learning and less on finances.”
