MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A woman was hospitalized Tuesday morning after deputies say she accidentally shot herself in northwest Miami-Dade.
Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said they responded just before 8 a.m. to the area of Northwest 56th Place and Northwest 195th Drive and found the woman with a gunshot wound to her lower body.
They said medics with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported her to a nearby hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
Detectives said their preliminary investigation indicates the woman shot herself unintentionally and that no one else was involved.
A Local 10 News crew observed deputies placing crime scene tape around the area as they continued their investigation.
They said MDSO’s General Investigations Unit is handling the case and no other details were immediately released.
