Many traveled to South Florida from across the county to speak out against migrant detention centers like Alligator Alcatraz and Chrome.

The group hosted their ICE Kidnapped My Neighbor demonstration, with the goal of sending a message to end practices carried out by ICE under the leadership of the Trump administration.

According to the sheriff’s office, demonstrators obstructed the main gate earlier in the day and declined multiple requests from deputies to clear the area.

Officials said that while they support the public’s right to peaceful protest, they must also maintain safety and ensure access to essential government facilities.

After several dispersal orders were ignored, deputies arrested multiple individuals on trespassing charges. No injuries were reported.

The sheriff’s office said it remains committed to protecting public safety while upholding the rights of the community.
