FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Police are investigating after a man was wounded in a shooting that they said occurred outside of a popular bar/ nightclub in Fort Lauderdale early Friday morning.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department said they reponded to the 200 block of Southwest Second Street, near Capone’s Nightclub, where they found a man with non life-threatening gunshot injuries.
Police said he was taken to Broward Health Medical Center by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.
They said preliminary investigation indicates the shooting followed a physical altercation involving three men.
The wounded man does not wish to pursue prosecution and has not yet cooperated with detectives, according to the investigators.
However, they said the shooter, a man, returned to the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
All parties involved have been identified, and no arrests have been made at this time.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, including examining the possibility of self-defense.
