MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Two people were hospitalized Monday morning following a house fire in southwest Miami-Dade, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
The fire occurred near Southwest 288th Street and Southwest 145th Avenue.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the attic of a single-family home. They worked the blaze as a first alarm before bringing it under control. Crews remain on scene extinguishing hot spots.
Sky 10 flew over the area around 11 a.m., showing firefighters on the roof of the home as Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews and Miami-Dade police deputies worked on the home that was left with charred windows from the heavy blaze.
MDFR officials said the adult was transported by air rescue to a nearby trauma center. They also confirmed that a second individual was transported by ground to a nearby hospital.
The ages, identities, genders and conditions of both individuals have not yet been released.
