Police: Man kills 2 inside Boynton Beach business before taking own life soon after

Boynton Beach PD investigate after man kills 2, then himself

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — Boynton Beach police say someone walked into a business on Monday afternoon and killed two people.

That person then took their own life while being pursued by police soon after.

The initial shooting happened along the 2400 block of Highridge Road just after 4:00 p.m. while the business was open.

Investigators said the victims and suspect knew each other, but were not related.

After the shooting, police said a good Samaritan reported a suspicious car and called authorities.

Officers said they located the vehicle and there was a short chase before the driver killed himself and crashed about ten minutes away from the shooting scene.

“He turned down Leisureville Boulevard, traveled south, and we believe that’s when he shot himself in the head and crashed into a tree,” said Boynton Beach Police Chief Joseph DeGiulio.

Cell phone video from a neighbor shows SWAT officers approaching the crashed car.

Several police cars were parked outside the business plaza where the initial shooting occurred.

Detectives have not identified the business where the shooting happened, only saying that it was an office.

Investigators say they are working to figure out the circumstances that led up to the shooting.

The victims have not been identified.
