MIAMI — WNBA All-Star Arike Ogunbowale is facing a misdemeanor battery charge in South Florida following an incident at the popular E11EVEN nightclub in downtown Miami early Thursday morning, according to police.
Ogunbowale, a 29-year-old point guard for the Dallas Wings, is accused of punching a security staffer in the face as he was escorting her out of the establishment, located at 29 NE 11th St., at around 4:20 a.m. following an “unrelated altercation.”
The punch caused the victim “to fall to the ground,” according to an arrest report from the Miami Police Department.
The MPD report states that Ogunbowale, of Arlington, Texas, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Entertainment news site TMZ reports that Ogunbowale was celebrating the championship of the Unrivaled basketball club she also plays for, Mist BC, along with others on the team.
Mist BC plays its games at Wayfair Arena in Medley as part of the three-on-three women’s basketball league, founded in 2025.
Ogunbowale, a native of Milwaukee, is a four-time WNBA All-Star and played college basketball at the University of Notre Dame.
Jail records show she was released from custody on a $1,000 bond on Thursday afternoon.
