FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fort Lauderdale police responded early Saturday morning to a reported stabbing near a bus stop on the 100 block of Northwest First Avenue.
Officers said they arrived at approximately 6:38 a.m. and found an adult who had been stabbed.
They said the victim was transported by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue to Broward Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the incident appeared to stem from an altercation between people who knew each other. A suspect was detained at the scene.
Authorities described the investigation as “active and ongoing” and did not release further details.
No other injuries were reported.
Officers with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department are also investigating a Saturday morning shooting that they said left an adult hospitalized and a suspect detained. The two incidents do not appear to be connected.
