MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Two men are each facing a felony after Miami Beach police said they stole “large handfuls” of bras and panties.
Investigators said Anthony Lee Smith, the main perpetrator, and Daniel Rabinovich, acting as support, teamed up for the Feb. 10 lingerie heist at the Victoria’s Secret at 900 Lincoln Road.
It took a few weeks for police to bust the pair, but officers arrested Smith, 45, on Friday and Rabinovich, 35, on Saturday.
According to arrest reports, Smith walked into the store, stole undergarments, left, then walked back in and stole more bras and panties.
Investigators said Rabinovich was the lookout and helped Smith carry the stolen goods, valued at $2,580.
Authorities said they identified the men, both of whom are homeless, through CCTV footage. Officers located and arrested Smith at 84th Street and Hawthorne Avenue, while they captured Rabinovich at 69th Street and Collins Avenue.
The arrest reports don’t state what the men allegedly did with the stolen intimates or whether authorities were able to recover any of them.
As of Monday morning, both men remained jailed at the Metrowest Detention Center on grand theft charges. Smith was being held on a $2,500 bond, while Rabinovich was being held on a $500 bond, jail records show.
