MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies arrested a southwest Miami-Dade man on 15 felony charges on Friday after they said he was caught uploading child sexual abuse images to a cloud storage site.
Investigators with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said Dropbox reported Joshua Phillips, 23, who lives in the unincorporated Richmond West area, “for uploading multiple files of child sexual abuse material” to its platform on March 14, 2024.
An MDSO arrest report states that a search warrant revealed “at least” 15 illicit files. Detectives said the victims depicted in the images were girls, at least one of whom appeared to be under 1 year old.
Almost two years after the initial tip, deputies said they went to an office building at 13155 SW 134th St. to locate and arrest Phillips on Friday morning on charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse material.
They said he provided a “full confession.”
Court records show he was later released from jail on a $37,500 bond.
