MIAMI — After a night of Don Julio tequila and a quick hookup, police say a Miami man realized his $9,000 Cartier watch had left the building ― along with his date.

The incident happened at around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 20, 2023, but the suspect wouldn’t be arrested until Saturday: Christina Nicole Nikitich, 35, of Hallandale Beach, is now facing a grand theft charge.

According to an arrest report from the Miami Police Department, the victim met Nikitich “at an unknown bar” and, after buying the tequila, went back to his unit at the Vizcayne building at 244 Biscayne Blvd., across from Bayside Marketplace.

Police said surveillance video showed Nikitich, then 33, holding the box of Don Julio as she and the victim entered the downtown apartment.

“The victim stated that when they arrived at the apartment, they continued consuming alcohol and had sexual intercourse,“ the MPD report states. ”While they were having sexual intercourse, the victim removed his Cartier watch and placed it on the counter in his office. Shortly after, (Nikitich) went to the restroom and when she returned she began to act nervous.”

According to the report, the victim told detectives that she then left “in a hurry” and he soon noticed his gold watch was gone; by the time he went downstairs to look for her, so was Nikitich.

The two had been in the apartment for just about 40 minutes, police said.

Authorities said they were able to identify Nikitch, who’s also known by the alias “Dana Amidoin,” through fingerprints left on a living room glass table and the Don Julio bottle.

She was taken into custody at the MPD downtown headquarters just before 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Records show that she had two outstanding warrants for two separate Miami-Dade cases involving charges of grand theft and strong-armed robbery ― the details of which weren’t available as of Monday afternoon.

She also had a warrant out for a probation violation stemming from a felony hit-and-run conviction. That meant that she was being held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Monday afternoon.

Fort Lauderdale, possible NYC cases

But these aren’t her only pending cases in South Florida.

Back in Broward County, Nikitich is accused of another “bad date”-related crime.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, a man reported that he went out for drinks at YOLO Restaurant at 333. E. Las Olas Blvd. on the night of Nov. 29, 2024 and met a woman named “Christina” ― later identified as Nikitich.

An arrest report states that the last thing he remembered was having a drink with “Christina” and waking up the next morning, fully clothed. He believed he was drugged

Police said Nikitich stole a Ford Explorer ― which happened to belong to the man’s girlfriend ― from the apartment complex’s garage and wrecked it in Miami at around 5 a.m. and ran away from the crash scene.

According to the report, the man told investigators that that when his girlfriend “went to recover her vehicle his wallet was located within, but his phone and $200-$300 cash (were) missing.”

Broward Sheriff’s Office records show she was arrested last June. She’s facing a grand theft auto charge in Broward court.

But her criminal history may even extend beyond this decade ― and beyond the state of Florida.

The New York Post reported in its May 31, 2012 police blotter that a 21-year-old woman named Christina Nikitich was arrested on a burglary charge after a night with a man at a luxury hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

Citing court records and the New York Police Department, the Post reported that the 35-year-old victim “said he misplaced his room key and left to get a new one at about 1:50 a.m.” and upon returning, “discovered that his pricey Piguet and Rolex Yacht watches were gone — as well as Nikitich."

Nikitich’s name did not show up in New York state criminal court records, so it wasn’t immediately clear whether the Post report is referencing the same person or what became of the case.
