MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — A 2-year-old boy was hospitalized Tuesday night after being bitten in the face by two Pit bulls in Miami Gardens, authorities confirmed.

According to Miami Gardens police, the incident was reported at about 6:54 p.m. in the 3600 block of Northwest 191st Street.

Police said officers at the scene discovered that the toddler was in the backyard of a home when he was attacked by the dogs.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue airlifted the boy to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. The boy is reported to be in stable condition.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police did not immediately confirm whether the dogs were taken by Animal Control or whether any adults would be cited or charged for the attack.
