According to the Miami Gardens Police Department, the incident was reported at about 6:54 p.m. in the 3600 block of Northwest 191st Street.

Police said officers at the scene discovered that the toddler was in the backyard of a home when he was attacked by one of two family pit bulls.

“At this time they haven’t determined which dog did the biting, however, the dog’s owner has relinquished both dogs,” MGPD spokesperson Diana Delgado said, noting that no matter which dog bit the boy, “it’s not an unfamiliar pet.”

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue airlifted the boy to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. The boy is reported to be in stable condition.

“He good though, he good, all due respect he good,” the boy’s cousin told Local 10 News.

The incident has been deemed an accident, so the boy’s parents will not face any charges, authorities said.
