MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — A man is facing a murder charge after police say he shot and killed someone during a dispute outside a home in Miami Gardens.
Surveillance video from a nearby home shows the moment shots were fired in the neighborhood on Dec. 18.
In the footage, a man can be seen holding a gun and firing multiple times into the doorway of a house.
According to police, the shooting happened after a verbal argument between Sylvester Grice Jordan and Yasmany Rodriguez Fernandez outside a home on Northwest 177th Terrace.
Investigators said Jordan had been living at the home with his girlfriend and their baby. The house belonged to the girlfriend’s stepfather, Fernandez, and his wife.
Police said Jordan moved out shortly before the shooting after family members complained he was causing trouble.
Detectives said he returned that Thursday night to pick up his dog, and that’s when the confrontation escalated.
Neighbors called 911 as the shooting unfolded.
“I heard some fussing and then we heard some shooting,” the caller said.
Jordan remains in custody. Police said he is charged with second-degree murder and displaying a weapon while committing a felony.
