SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. — A Sunny Isles Beach man is facing a felony charge after authorities said he went the wrong way up Collins Avenue in order to avoid a traffic stop over the weekend.

Authorities said the incident happened just after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, near 178th Street.

Sunny Isles Beach police said an officer noticed that Ean David Angus, 24, was riding a motorcycle without a license plate. The officer then turned on his lights and siren and “then stepped out of his marked unit and gave (him) several commands to get off the motorcycle,” according to an arrest report.

But Angus, police said, did not stop and instead “drove around the officer,” speeding as he went north on Collins Avenue in the southbound lanes.

Later in the day, at around 5:30 p.m., police said officers found the motorcycle parked in the 17600 block of North Bay Road and saw Angus walking in the parking lot of his nearby condo building, where they took him into custody.

Angus appeared in court on Sunday to face a charge of fleeing police at high speed. A judge gave him a $7,500 bond.

He was no longer listed in Miami-Dade jail records as of Monday morning.
