‘Can I please get my dog back?’: Miami family says someone swiped beloved pup

Miami family wants beloved pup back after alleged theft

MIAMI — A Miami family is asking for the public’s help in locating their missing dog.

The family has two Maltese pups named Honey and Chloe that do everything together.

Now, the family believes someone stole Honey from their front yard in the Allapattah neighborhood.

“I keep waking up so early just to think about her,” said 10-year-old Jacob.

Video from a neighbor’s home that was taken around the time of the dog’s disappearance on March 16 shows someone dressed in black wearing a backpack, and when that person passes Honey’s front yard in the 1900 block of Northwest 17th Street, they appear to be holding something white.

“Can I please get my dog back, because I miss her a lot,” said Jacob.

Jacob’s mother spoke to Local 10’s Bridgette Matter in Spanish.

She said the dog is considered a part of the family, like one of her children, and she believes someone hopped over the fence and took Honey while she was out.

She said the family’s three children are devastated. They filed a report with the Miami Police Department and posted flyers in their neighborhood, hoping someone might bring Honey back.
