CUTLER BAY, Fla. — Bullets were flying during a party in a quiet neighborhood in Cutler Bay, and some neighbors said they thought it was fireworks.

The shooting shortly before 9 p.m. on Tuesday damaged property along Sterling Drive, near Southwest 194 Street, near Bel Aire Elementary School.

There were so many bullets fired that crime scene technicians had to return on Thursday to collect more bullet casings.

Surveillance video shows a man standing in a house’s front yard running for cover. No one was injured, according to Detective Samantha A. Choon, a spokeswoman for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

According to Choon, the M-DSO detectives’ investigation was still ongoing on Thursday, and deputies had not made any arrests in the case.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
