MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — President Donald Trump headlined a Saudi-backed investment conference Miami Beach on Friday.
Trump spoke at the FII Priority Summit, a gathering that brings together global leaders, investors and policymakers to discuss pressing economic and geopolitical issues.
Trump quickly turned his focus to the ongoing conflict with Iran.
“For 47 years, Iran has been known as the bully of the Middle East,” Trump said. “But they are not the bully any longer -- they’re on the run.”
Trump also touched on issues impacting Americans directly, including the partial government shutdown and rising tensions with Cuba.
“I built this great military, I say, Cuba is next, by the way -- pretend I didn’t say that, please… please media,“ Trump said. ”Cuba is next."
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the U.S. can meet its objectives without deploying ground troops, adding the conflict could end within weeks.
The summit is part of a broader series of events drawing international attention to South Florida this weekend, as business leaders and public officials convene to network and address global challenges.
Trump did not offer a specific timeline for how long the fighting may continue.
