POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Authorities are investigating a reported stabbing that led to a deputy pursuit early Saturday morning that began in Deerfield Beach and ended in Pompano Beach.

The incident began around 3:30 a.m., with reports of a stabbing possibly involving one or two victims. Police sources told Local 10 the violence may have started in Deerfield Beach before the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

They said a high-speed pursuit followed, ending near Northeast Fifth Avenue and 24th Street in Pompano Beach. The vehicle believed to be involved remained at the scene as detectives processed evidence.

Video from the area showed a heavy law enforcement presence, with sections of the street and a nearby parking lot blocked off by yellow police tape.

It remains unclear whether anyone died as a result of the incident. It also appeared that at least one was taken into custody.
